BRISTOL, VA - The Benjamin Walls Gallery in Bristol was officially open for less than two months in 2010, yet raised more than $9,000 for local charities.
Crossroads Medical Mission, Young Life of Bristol, The Mike Marshall Family Benefit, and Believe in Bristol were some of the organizations that were supported via donations, auction items, or private events.
Walls sits on the Board of Directors for Bristol's Paramount Center for the Arts and is involved with the Friends of Steele Creek Park annual photography competition.
This year Walls plans to partner with Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Tri-Cities), Believe in Bristol, and other area organizations.
He plans to foster his own non-profit with a focus on environmental awareness as well as land and wildlife conservation.
Walls has won four international awards for his photography. His work has been featured in 50 museums in 12 countries and sold in seven fine art galleries in the U.S. Collectors include politicians, Wall Street executives, and Bristolians.
