A! Magazine for the Arts

Check before you go

March 30, 2020

Many arts organizations across the nation have canceled or postponed events to help protect their patrons; and our local organizations are doing the same.

We are aware that many changes will be be made to the calendar in this magazine between our deadlines and publication date. Venues may close or may reopen.

Before you attend any event, contact the venue or organization to make sure that the event has not been canceled or rescheduled. You can also check our website, aamearts.org. We will endeavor to keep it up to date when we are notified of schedule changes.

The Coronavirus precautions are causing artists and arts organizations more than scheduling difficulties. They are affecting their budgets. When a concert, for example, is rescheduled for later in the year, their cash flow is severely restricted until then. When one is canceled, that revenue is simply gone.

This spreads to unexpected consequences for a variety of people: stagehands, box office personnel and even the advertising revenue of A! Magazine for the Arts.

As we get through this together, consider making an extra donation to your favorite arts groups. Support a writer by purchasing an ebook without leaving your home.

We want to ensure that all our beloved artists are still here to entertain and enlighten us when we can gather together again.

Remember to take care of yourself.
