Merle Dickert
Merle Dickert has been named Executive Director of the Paramount Center for the Performing Arts in Bristol. After nine years as Marketing Director for the Paramount Center, Dickert spent four years as Alumni Development Director for Virginia Intermont College before returning to the Paramount.
A native Bristolian, Dickert currently serves on the board of directors for Birthplace of Country Music Alliance, is a member of the 1900 Literary Club, and a panelist for the Virginia Commission for the Arts. She has been a member of the Editorial Committee for A! Magazine for the Arts and on the boards of directors for Arts Alliance Mountain Empire, Arts Council of Greater Kingsport, Bristol Ballet, Theatre Bristol, and William King Regional Arts Center.
Dickert earned a BFA in Communications Art and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has a strong background in marketing and media, having worked as a freelance artist and photographer, a fashion illustrator, and in display/advertising/sales. She has successful experience in various aspects of marketing campaigns, creation of advertising materials, media placements, and press relations, as well as event planning and coordination.
