JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Dr. Robert Sawyer, associate professor in the Department of English at East Tennessee State University, is the recipient of the 2008 South Atlantic Review Essay Prize provided by the South Atlantic Modern Language Association (SAMLA).
Sawyer claimed the award, which includes a $500 prize, for his essay entitled Mary Shelley and Shakespeare: Monstrous Creations printed in the spring 2007 edition of the South Atlantic Review.
The award presentation was made in Louisville, Ky., during the SAMLA annual convention in early November.
