The Emory & Henry College theater department presents a stage production of one of the most beloved Disney movies, “Mary Poppins,” Feb. 22-25 in the McGlothlin Center for the Arts on its Emory, Virginia, campus.
The performance of the story, which was written by Julian Fellowes and created by Cameron McIntosh, begins in the Kennedy-Reedy Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22-24 and continues with a 2 p.m. matinee on Feb. 25.
Directed by Dr. Kelly Bremner, head of the E&H theaterdepartment, the 20-member cast relates the story of the children of the Banks family and the arrival of their new nanny, Mary Poppins. Embarking on a series of fantastical adventures with Mary and her Cockney friend, Bert, the Banks siblings try to pass on some of their nanny’s sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents.
The play is presented through special arrangement with musical Theatre International. All authorized performance materials also are arranged through MTI. All authorized performance materials are supplied and licensed by MTI (www.mtishows.com).
Tickets for the event are $15. For more information about the production and to reserve tickets, contact the McGlothlin Center for the Arts box office at 276-944-6333 or visit www.ehc.edu/mca/tickets.
