Theresa Burchett-Anderson has been named director of the B. Carroll Reece Museum at East Tennessee State University.
Before coming to ETSU, she was a curatorial researcher at the National Museum of the American Indianin Washington, D.C., responsible for all research, planning and development of galleryrelated projects, including print and online publications and sales shop products. She previously served the NMAI as a museum technician, helping to move approximately 800,000 objects from New York City to a new storage facility in Maryland and researching objects in the museum's possession. Her experience also includes stints as a docent and weekend manager at the Appalachian Cultural Museum at Appalachian State University, Boone, N.C., and as a collections manager at the Berea (Ky.) College Appalachian Museum.
She holds two degrees in Appalachian Studies, an M.A. from Appalachian State and a B.A. from Berea. She has had articles published in the Journal of Appalachian Studies and the Appalachian Cultural Museum newsletter, and she has delivered several papers at Appalachian Studies Association conferences and elsewhere.
