The Appalachian, Scottish, and Irish Studies (ASIS) program at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) makes connections between Appalachia and the Old World, through study on campus and abroad.
The first-of-its-kind, internationally renowned program immerses participants in history, geography, literature, storytelling, arts, music, cuisine, language, and folklore of both cultures -- the Old World and the Appalachian area of the New World.
