The Jonesborough General Store hosts an open mic bluegrass night open to anyone who wants to participate free of charge.
JONESBOROUGH, TN - If you are looking for something free to do on Wednesday nights, head over to The Jonesborough General Store and Eatery in downtown Jonesborough from 6 to 8 p.m. for some toe tapping tunes fresh from the mountains.
The General Store hosts an open mic bluegrass night open to anyone who wants to participate free of charge. Participants are asked to bring their own instruments, and all types of Bluegrass music are welcome from modern to old time styles. The restaurant side of the store will also be open for a quick bite to eat.
The Bluegrass night has been running since November of last year, and individuals of all ages have participated in making music during the event that was started to give the local community an opportunity to gather and listen to local musicians play their own music at the nostalgic eatery.
