Bristol native Ray Hall is featured with his handcrafted miniature log cabins.
ABINGDON, Va. -- Featured in The Virginia Tourism Travel Guide for 2009 is Bristol native Ray Hall, president of the Board of Directors of the Holston Mountain Arts and Crafts Cooperative in Abingdon.
Hall builds miniature log cabins, churches, barns, chicken coops, and outhouses. The detail of the furnishings in his buildings is just part of the charm and the fascination to everyone who takes a peek inside the interiors. Tiny dishes hold food, small photos hang over the fireplaces, and little rocking chairs wait on the front porch.
Hall's creations are sold at the Cave House Craft Shop in Abingdon. "Round the Mountain Artisans Network and the Virginia Tourism Corporation arranged the photo opportunity for several members of the Holston Mountain Arts and Crafts Cooperative.
Carving, quilting, and basket making are just a few of the crafts that will be featured in print ads and web features through the year.
