The Greater Tri-Cities Area Composers Consortium announces new publications by two members are now available.
ALRY Publications, Etc., Inc., has published Canzona con Variazioni for flute choir by Beth P. McCoy and Tranquility for flute and piano by Ann Holler.
"Canzona con Variazioni" is described as an expressive song with variations, scored for piccolo, two C flutes, alto flute and bass flute. This composition has previously been performed by Trillium Flute Ensemble in the Tri-Cities area and also in Hungary by the Morningstar Flute Ensemble. McCoy, of Abingdon, is Artistic Director of Mountain Empire Children's Choral Academy, director of Highlands Youth Ensemble, independent piano and voice teacher, church musician, and ASCAP member.
The publisher describes "Tranquility" as a lovely, serene melody, with a bright aspect. This piece has been performed as a recital and wedding duo for flute and piano. Bristol resident Ann Holler is an adjunct faculty member at King College, independent piano teacher, arts volunteer, and member of the American Composers Forum.
Members of the Greater Tri-Cities Area Composers Consortium meet regularly for critique and encouragement. Five composers in this group recently collaborated with First Presbyterian Church and King College to present "Artistic Reflections II," a concert featuring world premiere performances of their compositions inspired by selections from the Neal and Alice Caldwell Art Collection at King College.
