Jan-Carol Publishing, Johnson City, Tennessee, announced the release of "Kallie Grace is a Firefighter," the first book in a new series "The Adventures of Kallie Grace."
Piney Flats resident Katie Goulds is the author and daughter of illustrator Nancy Dickerson. Goulds says, "The concept behind "The Adventures of Kallie Grace' is to create a series of stories that promote the idea that young girls have the capacity and opportunity to pursue any passion or interest they desire. My mother and I worked as a collaborative team to create this series. We genuinely hope that your child enjoys the story. The discussion questions and moral on the last page of the book are designed to spark a time of reflection for your family about making positive character choices and how to apply those in your everyday life."
Readers will find that Grace has a big imagination. Every Saturday when she wakes up, she becomes someone different and has a super fun adventure. In her first adventure, Grace is a firefighter and exhibits her bravery in rescuing the neighbor's kitten from a burning barn. The next adventure is already in the works and in it, Grace wakes up and is a police officer.
