BRISTOL, VA - It's a collaboration of art and music as Birthplace of Country Music Alliance and Virginia Intermont College recently began work on massive mini-billboards that will soon hang in the boarded-up windows of the proposed BCMA Cultural Heritage Center site.
VI art professor Sam Morrow, former banjo player for The Dixie Bee-Liners, is overseeing art students who have taken over the third floor of the school's library as a studio.
"When you drive the by the Cultural Heritage Center now, you see an empty building," says Jessica Turner, a BCMA board member who is also on staff at Virginia Intermont. "While preparations are being made to start construction, we wanted to passers-by to get a glimpse of Bristol's future."
Godsey Supply and Woods Paint, both of Bristol, supplied paint and materials for the project.
