New Executive Director at the Lincoln Theatre

The Lincoln Theatre, Inc. Board of Directors has named Marion resident Duane Cregger as executive director.

Cregger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in art communications/advertising design from Roanoke College in Salem, Va. He spent several years in Washington, D.C., gaining experience in marketing and design, events coordination and planning, outsourcing, and administration before returning to his hometown. Cregger most recently worked providing freelance art direction, concept development, and production management for a number of corporate clients. He was also employed as a senior designer with the National Association of Manufacturers, as design manager for the Washington Service Bureau of Commerce Clearing House, and as a marketing assistant with the National Institute of Business Management in Alexandria, Va. Cregger's work in design earned the 2001 Award of Excellence and a 1999 Honorable Mention from the Printing and Graphics Communication Association and a 1996 APEX Design Award.

He serves as secretary of the board of directors of Smyth County Adult Literacy Enrichment. He is president of the board of directors of the Appalachian Spirit Artists' Cooperative of Marion and a member of the Depot Artists Association in Abingdon. Cregger enjoys painting and displays his work at an art gallery in Marion. He is a pianist and serves as a substitute organist at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, where he is a member.
