Pat Jessee mixes Photography, Digital Collage

June 26, 2012

Pat Jessee's approach was a little different, because her book has very few words. But it is still based on a passion to share her personal vision with others. This book of her artwork is not filled with the paintings that people associate with Jessee; it's an exploration into the digital medium with a combination of photography and digital collage.

She says she began to use her computer to explore digital art because she's taking care of her father who has Alzheimer's. "I can sit in the living room with him and do this."

Her initial foray into digital art may have come about from necessity and, she says, "a little obsession," but she's discovered another advantage. "Each image gives me hundreds of ideas, and I can keep them on the computer. I can't do that with a painting, or I would never finish one. On the computer, I can take one idea, it will inspire 50, and I can save every copy."

Saving every copy of her digital creations provides great inspiration to Jessee and saving story ideas spurs writers to create more stories. But once these creations have come to fruition, there comes the desire to share their vision with others. That desire results in crossing from the creative world into the business world: publishing.
