"Ray of Light" and "Emerald Pools," digital color photographs taken by Frank Renault of Abingdon, Va., and Richard Meade of Norton, Va., respectively, tied for the "Best in Show" award in the Ninth Annual Highlands Camera Club's exhibit at the Arts Depot.
The winning photographs were selected by Arts Depot visitors who voted during the monthlong exhibit of more than 90 framed photographs. Additional winners in "Best Color" and "Best Black & White" categories include Renault, Meade, Diana Johnson-Martin, Myra Renault, Gwen Paton and Fred Martin.
The Highlands Camera Club was founded in 2005 with a mission to "promote the use and appreciation of photography." Current club president, Gwen Patton welcomes visitors of all ages and all levels of experience or anyone simply interested in photography to attend meetings which are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Washington County Library in Abingdon, Va.
