EMORY, VA -- A connection with nature has always been important for Felicia Mitchell, professor of English at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va.
Since her childhood, Mitchell has valued her relationship with nature, and that relationship has given roots to her writing career.
Then, last year, within one week, both she and her mother were diagnosed with breast cancer.
