In 1997, the William King Regional Arts Center, now the William King Museum of Art, celebrated the first in a series of outdoor sculpture competitions highlighting the creative diversity of sculptors living and working in the Southeast.
Through a series of these juried exhibitions, WKMA has collected a number of sculptures that have been permanently installed on the museum grounds, as well as three temporary installations by the winners of their most recent sculpture competition.
A walk through the museum's sculpture garden, a green hillside dotted with extraordinary contemporary art, is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Bring a blanket, a book, a pet and maybe even a picnic, choose your favorite sculpture, and spend some time relaxing with art.
