MARION, Va. - The Chamber of Commerce of Smyth County encouraged the citizens of Smyth County to celebrate the holiday season in style by decorating their homes for the Annual Christmas Decorating Contest.
The contest was open to any citizen whose home is in Smyth County. Judging was conducted by the Chamber's Special Events, Tourism and Community Action Committee. The criteria for judging was creativity, holiday spirit and overall beauty.
The 2015 winners are as follows:
First Place went to Blair & Margaret Linford on Scratch Gravel Road in Marion;
Second Place went to Jim and Annette Mabe on Four Apple Avenue in Chilhowie;
Third Place went to Leon and Nellie Groseclose on Mountain View Drive in Marion.
This annual contest is a tradition that recognizes and builds the community spirit of Smyth County.
