Student Ticket Subsidy Provides Opportunities For Public Schools

September 8, 2008

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Arts Commission provides funding to public schools for cultural arts experiences through the Student Ticket Subsidy (STS) grant category.

These funds are administrated by eight Designated Agencies across the state and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to teachers who make application through the appropriate method, as outlined in the program guidelines.

Applications will be accepted beginning on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 for the grant period Oct. 15, 2008 through June 15, 2009.

Public school teachers and principals are encouraged to take advantage of STS funds for in-school and field trip opportunities. In most situations, STS funds may be used for transportation costs in addition to the artistic fees.
