NASHVILLE,TN -- The Tennessee Arts Commission has selected new officers to lead the state arts agency.
They are Kim Wood McClamroch of Knoxville, chair; Julia G. McGuffin of Morristown, vice chair; and Dr. Paulette Coleman of Nashville, secretary. The appointments become effective July 1, 2009. Commission members are appointed by the governor for five-year terms.
Donna Chase, outgoing chair, has high hopes for the new leadership as she reflected on her time as Commission chair. "This has been a wonderful experience, and with the selection of the new officers, I am sure the Commission is in good hands," said Chase. "It has been a privilege to serve, and to work with such outstanding individuals. I am confident that the Commission will continue to build on previous accomplishments, and with the guidance of these exceptional leaders will continue to achieve even greater success."
In addition to the selection of the new officers, retiring members of the Commission were honored during a special luncheon. Those members included Donna Chase of Knoxville, Deanie Parker of Memphis, and Gloria LaRoche of Murfreesboro.
