The Lincoln Theatre hosts movies every month

February 25, 2025

The Lincoln Theatre hosts multiple film events in the month of March including the next lecture in their Film Freaks series, the continuation of Golden Oldies, the newest movie in their Thirsty Thursday programs, and a screening of a classic silent film with The Tri-Cities Orchestra.

Film Freaks is a free educational-based film experience that includes a lecture, film screening and live discussion. The first half of the year focuses on film basics and March 7 at 7 p.m., revolves around screenwriting, dialogue and character types. The lecture helps the audience build a film vocabulary before the mystery movie begins. Following the film, there will be a guided discussion that aims to have the audience think critically and academically while also sharing opinions on the art of movies with a focus on the lecture’s topics.

“Film Freaks is getting off to a great start this year. I love seeing new people coming in and returning patrons that are eager to join the discussion,” says The Lincoln Theatre’s Film Curator Katelin Aanerud. “This film 101 section of the year has given those who attend a new way to look at movies. I’m excited to talk about screenplays since I’m working on a few of my own. I might even use them as an example.”

Golden Oldies: Cinema Classics is held March 11 at 11 a.m. This free program pulls the audience back in time to experience The Lincoln Theatre in its “movie palace” days. The Lincoln is highlighting many classics throughout the year and looking back at the original programming. March’s film is Michael Curtiz’s “Sante Fe Trail” (1940) starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland.

The Lincoln’s Thirsty Thursdays continue with “Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery” (1997) March 13 at 7 p.m. This parody of 1960s spy films directed by Jay Roach and featuring Mike Myers is a totally “groovy” time. The Lincoln Theatre encourages patrons to come in their best hippie or mod looks. The doors open at 6 p.m. with happy hour specials up at their bar. Tickets for the film can be purchased online or at the door for $5. Also, check out the full 2025 calendar of events and discover a variety of Friday and Thursday night film screenings throughout the year.

The Lincoln Theatre is partnering with The Tri-Cities Orchestra to bring patrons back to the good old days of silent films and the Roaring 20s March 28 at 7:30 p.m. The orchestra performs the score for the 1925 romance comedy “My Lady of Whims” starring Clara Bow, Donald Keith and Carmelita Geraghty. Tickets for this event can be purchased online, over the phone, or in their box office for $15. All tickets are general admission.
