Theatre Bristol announces 2025 season auditions

Play a role at Theatre Bristol. The 2025 season of auditions, performances and programs feature the works of Roald Dahl, Irving Berlin, Neil Simon, Robert Harling and more. The season includes “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Steel Magnolias,” “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas,” “Land of Jesters,” “Rumpelstiltskin,” “The Odd Couple,” “The Mockingbird Sings,” “Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr.” and “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus.”

Auditions for “Land of Jesters” and “Rumplestiltskin” are held Feb. 15 and 16. Feb. 15 auditions are held at 10:30 am. Feb. 16 auditions are held at 2:30 p.m. Roles are available for children, teens, men and women. Readings are provided, or you can bring a prepared monologue (60-90 seconds). Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you can move in.

“Steel Magnolias” auditions are held Feb. 22 and Feb. 23. Auditions are at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 22 and 2:30 p.m. Feb. 23. “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” auditions for all ages are March 29 and 30. March 29 auditions are at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. March 30 auditions are at 4:30 p.m.

“The Mockingbird Sings” auditions are July 19 at 10:30 a.m. and July 20 at 6:30 p.m. “The Odd Couple” auditions are July 22 at 6:30 p.m. and July 23 at 6:30 p.m. “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” auditions for all ages are Aug. 9 and Aug. 10 at 2:30 p.m. and Aug. 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Auditions are held for the “Yes, Virginia, There is A Santa Claus” radio drama Oct. 18 and Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

Free audition workshops are held throughout the year. Dates include Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m., March 23 at 2:30 p.m., and Aug. 3 at 2:30 p.m. Registration is required and available at www.TheatreBristol.org.

If being in the spotlight is not your interest, but backstage on the production team or crew is, they are forming teams and crews. Contact info@theatrebristol.org with your interest and experience. This invitation includes those interested in orchestra, costuming, set design and construction, lighting, sound, stage management, props, publicity, assisting and many other roles. All roles are volunteer and experience or a strong willingness to learn is welcome.

Founded in 1965 by Cathy DeCaterina, Theatre Bristol is a community theater serving all ages that also has the distinction as the oldest continually running children’s theater in Northeast Tennessee. Located on historic State Street in Bristol, it also serves Southwest Virginia.
