Theatre Bristol announces season of performances and opportunities

The new year is full of opportunity and Theatre Bristol invites you to play a role. Their 2025 season of auditions, performances and registrations includes the works of Roald Dahl, Irving Berlin, Neil Simon and more and favorites like “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Steel Magnolias,” Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas,” “Land of Jesters,” “Rumpelstiltskin,” “The Odd Couple,” “The Mockingbird Sings,” “Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! Jr.,’ “Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” and more.

The 2025 season marks 60 years of shows, with as many as nine full-scale productions, as well as classes and workshops with the Catherine DeCaterina School of Theatre Arts, The StART of Adventure summer camp, PLAYtime in the ARTspace, ARTScene, and Theatre Bristol Youth Academy.

Auditions begin with “Land of Jesters” and “Rumplestiltskin” Feb. 15 and 16, and for “Steel Magnolias” Feb. 22 and 23. Theatre Bristol holds three audition workshops throughout the year to help prepare for auditions. Also, PLAYtime in the ARTspace performances for littles and those who love them resumes and continues the second Saturdays each month at 10 a.m. at the Theatre Bristol ARTspace, Bristol, Tennessee.

In March, their opening production is their annual partnership with River’s Way. Written by Dottie Havlik, they present “Lessons from Shakespeare: How to Avoid a Personal Tragedy,” a comedy for all ages with three shows on March 15 and 16. Auditions for “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” are March 29 and 30.

“Land of Jesters” and “Rumplestiltskin,” the first shows ever performed by Theatre Bristol in 1965, come to the stage the April 18 through 27, with daytime school performances.

“Steel Magnolias” comes to the stage May 2-11 for six performances.

Theatre Bristol holds The StART of Adventure Summer Camp June 9-13.

“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” comes to the Paramount Bristol stage July 18 through 27, and “The Mockingbird Sings” auditions are the July 19-20, and The Odd Couple auditions are July 22 and 23.

In August, Theatre Bristol’s Youth Academy takes on “Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! Jr,” Aug. 11 through Oct. 24, and auditions for “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” are Oct. 9-11.

“The Mockingbird Sings,” a love story about the Bristol Sessions recordings, is on stage the week of Sept. 12 through the 18 in anticipation of hosting bands for the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion Festival weekend Sept. 19-21.

“The Odd Couple” takes the stage Oct. 3-12, and auditions are held for “Yes, Virginia, There is A Santa Claus” radio drama Oct. 18 and 19.

In November, “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” is on stage at Paramount Center for the Arts weekends Nov. 21 through Dec. 7.

“Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” radio drama opens and runs Dec. 12-21 to close the season.

Theatre Bristol also plans more news, including bringing back its Pot O’Gold Cabaret Gala, with details to be announced.
