Emory & Henry College, Emory, Virginia, presents three instrumental music performances in April at the McGlothlin Center for the Arts.
The events include two student performances, an April 2 performance of chamber music beginning at 3 p.m. and an April 18 performance of the E&H Symphonic Band beginning at 7:30 p.m. The performances are in the Kennedy-Reedy Theatre.
The third performance features a brass concert provided by E&H faculty members. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., April 20 in the Kennedy-Reedy Theatre.
The chamber music concert highlights all of the student brass and woodwind chamber ensembles as they showcase their talents in a diverse program that ranges from the Renaissance to the 21st century.
The Symphonic Band concert provides an evening of music from the E&H Music Department, exploring the scope of wind band literature, including diverse composers, varied stylistic periods and unique compositional inspirations.
The Faculty Brass concert highlights the touring program of the ensemble. Various members of the group perform as soloists as the program is designed to entertain while furthering an appreciation of brass chamber music.
