Northeast State Technical Community College in Blountville, Tenn. will say farewell to a beloved teacher and friend this year when Rosemary Uccello Adams retires as a professor and returns to her passion as an artist.
She says the focus of her paintings follows a personal journey of events and places that she has visited that are dear to her. Before moving to Louisville, Ky., later this year, Adams will teach at Northeast State through the first summer semester.
She is a long-time judge of the college's literary publication, Echoes & Images, showcasing the artwork of students. Adams created Northeast State's art department shortly after her arrival on campus in 1994. The department has grown to offer several classes each semester in art history, drawing, and color theory, among others.
