The Watauga Valley Art League announces the winners of its Summer Member Show. Asheville artist and educator, Fleta Monaghan, was the judge. Attendees at the opening reception voted three "People's Choice" awards.
The winners are best of show "Peek-A-Boo Owl" by David Kramer, second place "Yellow Bug" by Jim Stagner, third place "Rust and Rot" by Jim Stagner, award of excellence "Peek-a-boo" by Linda Campbell, memorial award "Snowbound" by Ed Puhr, award of excellence "Rocky Fork Close Up" by Brenda McNenny, award of excellence "Dancing Feet" by Jewel Redstone, award of excellence "My Cat Izzy" by Sharon Neuhaus, honorable mention,"Little Fishie Abstract" by JoAnne Bucher, honorable mention "Classic Spaniel" by Susan Donner and honorable mention "Darwin Said What?" by Gary Chambers.
The People's Choice winners are "Babbling Brook" by Karen Foote, "Chimney Top Mountain" by John Charles and "Homeless" by Ken Simmelink.
